Women’s Day Celebration!

On 12th of March Chance for Change is holding a curry night at the India Gate restaurant in celebration of WOMEN! Sorry gents this is a ladies only dinner…Maybe next time!

The dinner is a great opportunity to meet with your fellow woman to have fun, good conversation, network and eat great food!

Events at the National Museum of the Royal Navy!

At the NMRN they are offering free community engagement events, which will be a treat to get involved in! Please see details below for further information.

Naval Dit Day: 3rd of March 2pm – 4pm, (Victory Learning Centre)

Celebrating the literary links to the Royal Navy in connection with world book day with our free event.  This will involve spinning a dit and sharing stories and discovering our objects that have literary links whilst enjoying tea and coffee and biscuits, including a navy book quiz and it’s FREE!

Sea Song Slam: 7th of March 12pm-4pm (Victory Gallery)

Come along and listen to local community choirs raise the Museum roof with a variety of songs all about the sea, Performing will be south sea community choir, wicor  primary school , The west end singers and  squally showers shanty group

Knit for the Navy! Get your knitting needles at the ready! Come and join in with ‘Worldwide Knit in Public Week’. Help knit something special as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the launch of HMS Victory, HMS Alliance’s launch 70 years ago and the 100thanniversary of the Gallipoli campaign, by creating a community sail inspired by HMS victory, made with fabric squares using a variety of techniques, to depicted the history of the ship and it’s stories. If you can not attend the sessions but would like to contribute towards the project please drop-in your squares to the museum reception or send them to

Women’s Multi Cultural Coffee Morning!

On April 29th 10:00am – 12:00pm A Women’s Multi Cultural Coffee Morning will be held at the National Museum of The Royal Navy.

In the session we will be looking at the role women have played within the Navy, WIRNS ( Women’s Indian Royal Navy Service) and WRNS (Women’s Royal Navy Service.) Tea, coffee, biscuits will be included with a little tour guide in our HMS (Hear My Story) gallery on the side.
